Lake Wainamu is located next to Bethells Beach.
Lake Wainamu is much quieter than Bethells Beach making it a great spot to cool off in the summer.
From the carpark take the Lake Wainamu track, which follows a stream to the base of the large sand dunes. From here you can either follow the stream or you can go over the sand dunes. We would recommend taking the sand dunes route as you get impressive views and you can also skim board down them
A long drop is available at the lake. Once you reach the lake you will see the track for the loop towards the right. It can get quite muddy at certain parts of the track so don’t take your favourite shoes. In the middle of the loop, where the track crosses the Wainamu Stream, you need to turn to a short side track. In a couple of minutes you will see the lower waterfall. The whole walk talks approximately 2 hours
There are three waterfalls here. Climb over the first waterfall and you will see two smaller waterfalls each complete with their own rock pool
